For the position of Probationary Officer (PO) at State Bank of India:
Essential Academic Qualifications (as on 31.12.2023):
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
- Those who are in the Final Year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally, subject to the condition that, if called for an interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.12.2023.
- Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.12.2023.
- Candidates possessing qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, etc. would also be eligible.

Mode of selection
Mode of Selection for the Probationary Officer (PO) Position at State Bank of India:
- Phase-I: Preliminary Examination:
- This will be an online objective test consisting of 100 marks. The test will have 3 sections, each with separate timings.
- Phase-II: Main Examination (Objective & Descriptive Tests):
- Candidates who qualify in the preliminary examination will be shortlisted for the main examination. The marks obtained in the preliminary examination will not be added to the final merit list.
- Phase-III: Group Exercise & Interview:
- This phase will comprise a Psychometric Test for personality profiling, followed by a group exercise and an interview. The bank will conduct the Psychometric test for those candidates shortlisted for Phase-III. The findings of the test may be placed before the interview panel for a comprehensive perspective on the candidates.
- Final Merit List:
- The marks obtained by candidates in Phase-II (both Objective & Descriptive Tests) and Phase-III (Group Exercise & Interview) will be normalized to 100 marks to prepare the final merit list.
Note: The selection for Probationary Officers will be done through this three-phase process.
