Pradhan-Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is the Central Sector Scheme launched by the Union Government of India. This scheme aims to provide income support to all the landholding farmers’ families in the country. This will be done so that the financial needs of the farmers for the procurement of various inputs related to agriculture and allied activities as well as their domestic needs are taken care of. Under this Scheme, the entire financial liability towards the transfer of benefit to targeted beneficiaries will be borne by the Union Government of India.
Under this scheme, an amount of Rs. 6000 is online directly deposited in the bank accounts of eligible farmers. This deposit is made annually under the Direct Benefit Transfer mode.
But there are certain exclusions to this and the below categories are not eligible, which are as follows:
- All institutional land holders.
- Farmer families which belong to:
- Former and present holders of constitutional posts.
- Former and present Ministers/ State Ministers and former/present Members of Lok Sabha/ Rajya Sabha/ State Legislative Assemblies/ State Legislative Councils, former and present Mayors of Municipal Corporations, former and present Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
- All serving or retired officers and employees of Central/ State Government Ministries /Offices/Departments and its field units Central or State PSEs and Attached offices /Autonomous Institutions under Government as well as regular employees of the Local Bodies (Excluding Multi-Tasking Staff /Class IV/Group D employees).
- All superannuated/retired pensioners whose monthly pension is Rs.10,000/-or more (Excluding Multi-Tasking Staff / Class IV/Group D employees) of the above category.
- All Persons who paid Income Tax in last assessment year
- Professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and Architects registered with Professional bodies and carrying out profession by undertaking practices.

How to check 10th PM kisan Yojana installement
The government of India announced that it will be crediting the 10th installment by 15th December 2021. Amount of 2000rupees will be credited to the farmer’s bank account. The farmers can check their names and installment status on the pmkisam by following below steps

PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana Objectives
The objectives of this scheme are as follows:
- To provide verified and single source of truth on farmers’ details at the portal.
- Timely assistance to the farmers in farm operation
- A unified e-platform for transferring of cash benefits into farmer’s bank account through Public Financial Management System (PFMS) integration.
- Location wise availability of benefited farmers’ list.
- Ease of monitoring across the country on fund transaction details.
Basis of Identification
The SMFs will be identified on the basis of:
- Projection of Agricultural Census 2015-16 data for 2018-19.
- The projected number of holding of SMFs landholder farmer families for FY 2018-19 is 13.15 crores but due to likely exclusion of certain categories of beneficiaries of higher economic strata, the total number of eligible beneficiaries has been taken as 12.50 crore.
- The existing land-ownership system will be used for identification of beneficiaries for calculation of financial benefit under the scheme.

PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana Offline Registration Process
- Eligible farmers can apply for this scheme by submitting their details to the designated officials, village Patwaris, etc.
- They can visit the Common Service Centres (CSCs) to get their registration done for availing the benefits of the Scheme.
- They can also do a self-registration on the PM KISAN PORTAL (https://pmkisan.gov.in/RegistrationFormnew.aspx ).
PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana Self-Registration Process
- Visit the official website (https://pmkisan.gov.in/NewHome3.aspx ).
- Scroll down to the ‘Farmer’s corner’ and click on “New Farmer’s Registration”.
- A “New Farmer Registration Form” will open and will verify if the farmer is already registered or not.
- Select “Rural Farmer Registration” or “Urban Farmer Registration”.
- Enter your Aadhar details.
- Select your state.
- Enter the captcha code given on the screen and click on “Search”.
- If you’re already registered, your details will be displayed, and, if not, then you’ll see a dialog box on the screen asking if you want to register yourself. Click on “Yes”.
- A new registration form will open.
- Fill in all the mandatory details asked on the first page. They include residential details, Name, Gender, Category, Farmer Type, Bank details, Aadhar details, Ration card No., Land Registration No., Date of birth, Parents/Spouse name, etc.
- Click on “Submit for Aadhar Authentication”.
- You’ll see an “Authentication Successful” message on the screen.
- Select the type of ownership of the land (Single/Joint).
- Click on “Add” and fill in the land details (Survey/Khata No., Dag/Khasra No., and Area).
- Now upload the supporting documents, which are, Land Registration document, Aadhar Card, and the first page of the Bank Passbook. These documents must be scanned and then uploaded.
- Tick the small Self-Declaration box.
- Click on “Save”.
- Your form has been submitted successfully.
Aadhar Capturing
- For availing benefits under the scheme, Aadhaar is mandatory. However, in cases, where the beneficiaries at present are not having Aadhar or Aadhar Enrolment number, alternate prescribed documents can be collected for identity verification and transfer of benefit to such farmer families for transfer of 1st instalment in 2018-19.
- All such beneficiaries not having Aadhaar card shall have to be compulsorily enrolled under Aadhaar, since transfer of subsequent instalments will be done only on basis of Aadhaar seeded data base.
- States/UTs to ensure that there is no duplication of the payment transferred to eligible families. Speedy reconciliation in case of wrong/incomplete bank details of the beneficiary to be ensured.
How to Edit Aadhar Failure Records
If you want to edit your Aadhar details due to name mismatch or any other details then follow the below steps
- Visit the official website (https://pmkisan.gov.in/NewHome3.aspx ). Scroll down to the ‘Farmer’s corner’ and click on “Edit Aadhar Failure Records”.
- In the “Edit Aadhar Details” screen select Search by “Aadhar Number” or “Mobile Number” or “Farmer Number”.
- Enter your “Aadhar Number” and “Image Text” shown on the screen and click “Search” Button.
- In the next screen you can update your detaials.
How to check Beneficiary Status

Monitoring of the Scheme
- A Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) at Central level will be set up in DAC&FW.
- The PMU headed by Chief Executive Officer shall also undertake publicity campaign.
- A stratified review/monitoring mechanism at National, State and District Level.
- At the National level, there will be a Monitoring Committee headed by Cabinet Secretary. State Govt. shall also notify the Monitoring Committees at the State & the District Level.
